Concordia International takes its Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) responsibilities very seriously. We have been sponsoring a number of charities for many years, we have an active environmental programme and we are committed to achieving the highest levels of compliance and governance.
We are committed to integrating environmental best practice into our business activities and welcome our responsibilities to protect and improve the environment. We recognize an obligation to reduce the impact of our business activities on the environment and we actively encourage our partners to do likewise. With >90 manufacturing partners and over 100 distribution partners, the majority of our environmental impact is generated via our partner companies, so this is our main focus.Following a detailed review, we consolidated all our inbound freight logistics with a single partner company which is actively seeking to reduce its environmental impact. We have also adopted a number of internal initiatives to reduce our environmental impact.
We have supported the global charity IHP (International Health Partners) for many years. IHP is an organisation which partners with companies from across Europe to provide medical aid to organisations serving children and adults in the most needy communities around the world.
Condordia International actively supports a number of children charities, including:
• IHP (International Health Partners), which donates medicines to people in need across the world
• The international charity, SOS Children's Villages, which provides homes and help for homeless and disadvantaged children where they can grow up in a safe, supportive and loving environment. The charity also provides medical centres for those who cannot afford healthcare and food for children and young people who are underweight or malnourished. A copy of the SOS Annual Report for 2015 can be found here.
• Snehasadan, a charity in India dedicated to offering support, a home, education and a future to homeless children:. We have recently helped to rebuild a Snehasadan children's home near our Mumbai office, and we provide financial and personal sponsorship to Snehasadan children who are seeking to move from school to vocational education and training.
We believe that these charities make a real difference to those whom they help.
Compliance and Governance
In 2015 we were awarded Gold standard by Investors in People for our commitment to our staff and our training programmes. We also take compliance extremely seriously, and in January 2016 we became the first pharma company in the world to achieve British Standards BS 10500 accreditation for our comprehensive compliance management systems.
